Outback - Available to Order Now

The Outback Wilderness offers a revised front grille within its new front bumper and a reworked rear bumper, larger wheel-arch cladding along with black exterior trim on door mirrors, window moldings, roof rails, front grille and badging. Plus, a black hood decal is included to minimize sun glare on bright, off-road trails. The addition of a front-view camera provides a nearly 180-degree view in front of the vehicle. LED hexagonal fog lamps are added for additional visibility when driving over rugged terrain. Finally, the undercarriage features four skid plates in total: two under the engine, as well as skid plates under both the transmission and rear differential.

The Outback Wilderness features a 2.4L, 4-cylinder Subaru Boxer engine with direct-injection and a turbocharger that provides 260 horsepower. An off-road suspension design provides an increased total ground clearance of 241 millimeters (9.5 Inches) while approach, departure and break-over angles are also increased over the standard model: 20.0-degrees (+1.4), 23.6-degrees (+1.9) and 21.2-degrees (+1.8) respectively. Body width is increased by 40 millimeters with slightly widened front and rear tracks. It stands on 225/65 R17 White Letter All-Terrain tires to provide more grip that stand out nicely against matte-black finish alloy wheels.

The Outback Wilderness also features fixed roof rails that offer 318 kilograms of static load capacity with 4-tie-down points, as well as front and rear tow-point covers that allow for ease of access. The turbocharged Subaru Boxer engine provides 1,588 kilograms (3,500 lbs.) of towing capacity.

The X-MODE system, which complements Subaru’s symmetrical full-time All-Wheel Drive, offers enhanced control logic allowing the system to operate at higher vehicle speeds, such as when driving down ice, dirt, mud, or gravel roads. Also, the driver can now track roll angle information right from the X-MODE display screen.

The interior combines durable all-weather upholstery and Wilderness logo-embossed headrests with features including anodized copper-finish accents, a black headliner and overhead trim, gunmetal interior trim, exclusive all-weather rubber floor liners, and rugged, alloy pedals. The interior also features LED rear gate lamps, which improve lighting in the cargo area and a heated steering wheel for Canadian winters.

All the Outback Wilderness’ safety systems have been recalibrated for their equipment and specific handling characteristics, including the standard EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, which uses two cameras to monitor on-road activity and provide four different types of preventative assistance to the driver.

Forester - Available to Order Now

The Forester Wilderness blends its enhanced trail capabilities with rugged styling, ensuring you will turn heads both on and off-road. Wilderness exclusive front and rear bumpers create a more rugged look while also improving approach and departure angles compared to the standard Forester models. To accompany this, aluminum engine and steel rear differential skid plates are added to provide increased protection. The Wilderness retains the 2.5-litre direct-injection Subaru Boxer engine, with 182 hp and 176 lb-ft of torque. This powerful and efficient engine gains revised drivetrain elements and shorter gear ratios which allow the Wilderness to better attack uneven and slippery terrain. These revisions accompanied by a CVT oil cooler allow the Forester Wilderness’ towing capacity to be the highest of the model line, up to 1,360 kilograms.

The enhancements continue in the Wilderness suspension, gaining 15mm of travel to provide comfort and increased capability both on and off-road. Overall, vehicle modifications provide the Forester Wilderness with an increased ground clearance of 229mm with standard front and rear skid plates. Exclusive 17-inch black-painted wheels with all-terrain tires and a matching full-size spare make the Wilderness fully prepared for every adventure. When the trails still manage to get tight, the front view camera offers a near 180-degree view of the front of the vehicle, allowing drivers to better plan their route of attack. A matte black hood decal provides a sportier look while reducing glare into the driver’s eyes, showcasing the practicality behind each styling element. In the front end, the Wilderness design is emphasized by matte black accents on the grille and hexagonal LED fog lights. To provide visual markers, useful contact points on the exterior have been highlighted by anodized copper-finish accents. These contact points include the roof rail tie-downs on the improved roof rack system exclusive to Wilderness. The versatile fixed ladder-type roof rack system boasts a higher dynamic load capacity and static load limit. These increases in load thresholds allow the safe use of a roof-top tent. Being a ladder-type rail design, the Forester Wilderness can fit a wider array of accessories.

When you step inside, you’ll find the Forester Wilderness comes with unique interior elements to match its enhanced capability. Combining comfort and durability, the seats are upholstered in all-weather soft-touch material featuring the Wilderness logo embossed in the front headrests. Contrast copper stitching on the seats and heated leather steering wheel matches the exterior accents as well as copper details found inside on the shifter, steering wheel, and gauge meter rings. Black headliner, roof console, and pillar trims are complemented by gunmetal finish on the dash, doors, and shifter plate. For increased interior protection, all-weather mats come standard and feature the Wilderness logo.  A standard waterproof rear cargo tray allows for the wettest and muddiest gear to be loaded worry-free.

Finally, the Forester Wilderness is equipped with the latest fourth generation of EyeSight Driver Assist Technology as standard for improved collision detection and avoidance. For the Forester Wilderness, this system has been recalibrated to account for the changes in ground clearance and the addition of all-terrain tires. Dual-function X-MODE is also standard on Wilderness, offering two different tailored settings of snow/dirt and deep snow/mud giving the driver maximum control for any condition. Hill Descent Control works by automatically engaging individual wheel braking to control the vehicle’s speed on a downgrade. A new Roll-Angle Indicator on the X-MODE display provides critical information to the driver to help judge potentially hazardous situations.
